3 papers down. 2 more to go. my corporate finance paper was quite urm.. i don't know. i got all 4 questions written with answers.. i just do not know if the answers were right. the problem with this year's paper was that NONE of the questions from past year papers re-appeared. so my effort in doing all past year papers was quite futile. so anyway, 8 question were brand new.. so ya.. *shrugs*
Helen from Prudential called 2 days back. she said there was 2 job openings for me.
1) Compliance Officer
2) Management Trainee
she scheduled an interview with me one day after my exams and i was required to be there in my business attire.
before i got to thinking what to wear.. i went online and googled on people who also had interviews with them. many of them went there and got interviewed for insurance posts and there was even one of them who was working as the recruitment consultant.. and she gets paid $6 an hour... and for every interviewee who came for the interview.. she earns $100 as commission. wtf.
then i got quite apprehensive about the whole interview thing.
for the management trainee position, it was definitely going to be insurance for the first year.. then after that you get into the management posts.. which is like what the Manulife people are doing. but NO! i am so not going into insurance.
so anyway, i have always wanted to do compliance.. so maybe i'll just go and see what they offer me.
these days i have been seeing how the friends around me experience the same love issues that can be so similar. we all concluded men should all have sensitivity chips installed in them.. or maybe like jo said.. go for romance classes.
1) they only call you when they are bored; when their friends are having lunch and are not talking ( come to think of it, at least they even call to say hi... mine dont even bother calling!)
2) when you call them, they say they are busy.. but still want you to call them when you miss them. can anybody sense oxymoron here?
3) they get so committed to their work (voluntary or not) or friends that they forgot about your presence and forget that they have to be as committed to their girlfriends as well. gradually as time passes, the girlfriends become their COMPANION instead.
Note: all of the above scenarios happens to my girlfriends who have at least been with their partners for a year!
sometimes your girlfriends don't necessarily need you to buy them diamond rings (im speaking for my circle of friends who are in the same mindset as me), go for expensive candlelight dinners or be around 24-7..
little things like calling to ask how is she (not when you're bored please!), giving her a stalk of flower on any day and not just celebrations could make her smile. at least we know that despite your busy schedules, we are still very much part of your life.. and that we are still important to you.
just like rus said "despite being committed to work, i know i would also have to be committed to my girlfriend as well because she is part of my life"
on the other hand, my boy seems to be getting what a "balance" is all about.
1) last week i got stressed out over my corporate finance paper, he came down my place, gave me a good hug and bought me an oreo cheesecake. =)
2) he sent me down to boon keng's mac so i could study with jo, and came early next morning to pick me up for breakfast before going to TP
3) on the same day, i wasnt getting enough sleep so i went to his place for a short nap at 8pm, jumped out of bed at 130am.. and had to go meet jo at mac.. he got up and sent me there!
i hope he really knows what balance im talking about. just this morning, i was telling my friend, sometimes i hoped he can treat me like VSC. then wa.. i'll feel damn important to him. like you know.. for example he has a choice on whether to meet me tonight.. but he'll think...
"CANNOT AH... VSC aka MY GIRLFRIEND IS COMPULSORY.. SO I MUST GO MEET MY GIRLFRIEND TONIGHT"
aint that lovely. *grin*
ok la. time to go mug again. endure endure.. 5 more days..
-pain is temporary. pride is forever-
