its close to 3 in the morning, couldnt get into snooze after finishing my latest reads by Sophie Kinsella. Its titled "Can you keep a secret?"

Wonderful read i must say except that it set me back to thinking mode.

a few weeks back, while taking a smoke break with my boss at 8th floor, we discussed about men, women and relationships. he spoke to me bout the "feeling", the feeling of being in love, the feeling of someone being interested in you, the feeling of awaiting that special someone's message, the feeling of talking on the phone with him/her without feeling tired.

oh yes, 3.5 years into my relationship with alwin, i have already lost that feeling. i wonder if this was the norm, i mean my mum cant be feeling the same way bout my dad after 30 years? or can she? don't get me wrong, things are working out fine between me and alwin, if not better these days.. but still.. something is missing..

Sophie Kinsella wrote bout how this woman ended her relationship with her near perfect boyfriend and found love with the next one. while i engaged myself pages after pages of the book, i felt that "feeling", albeit it being fictional.

what are we seeking in relationships? i found myself getting confused and irrational when i clearly told my boss that someday, a few years into whichever relationships we fall into, we would no longer have that feel again. the question is, is that real?

how are we to know? maybe there will be this other man, who like my boss puts it, "really steams you" perpetually? but wouldnt he get tired of it? or are we to be contended with whoever we have?

i have lost the trust after all that has happened. worst still, i had to re-read the email while clearing mails in my gmail.
yucheng asked what's a relationship without trust.
i replied: "love"
he questioned: "whats love without trust"
i replied: "faith"

i know its not going to be an easy task. i have to start building it bits by bits all over again, despite the fact that it was a year since it last happened.

retribution i say. but if she can do it, i can do it too.
